AHS Student Council

The Applied Health Sciences Student Council educates students of the various academic, social, as well as professional opportunities available, as well as promotes enhanced interaction between students, alumni, faculty, staff and other organizations within the College of Applied Health Sciences.

Mannie L. Jackson Illinois Academic Enrichment and Leadership Program (I-LEAP)

I-LEAP provides support to undergraduates enrolled in the College of Applied Health Sciences who are first-generation students, students from underrepresented groups, student athletes, and those recognized by the President Awards Program (PAP) and Educational Opportunities Program (EOP). Through bi-weekly one-on-one counseling, mentorship, workshops, academic skills development, leadership training, and referrals to resources, I-LEAP aims to increase student success at the University of Illinois and within the campus community.

James Scholar Honors Program

The honors program in the College of Applied Health Sciences is a part of the University of Illinois James Scholar program. It is named after the fourth president of the University, Edmund J. James, who believed scholarship and research were fundamental to human progress.

SPARK Undergraduate Research Program

SPARK encourages top caliber incoming freshmen to engage in undergraduate research during their first year at the University of Illinois in the College of AHS. Incoming students are personally invited to participate and can earn up to a $2,500 work stipend by participating in undergraduate research.
