Tonya has earned a B.A. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a M.S. degree in Health and Physical Education from Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Organization and Leadership from the University ofIllinois at Urbana-Champaign. Tonya began working on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus in 1997. After 3 years in Kinesiology as an academic advisor and lecturer, she continued as an advisor in both the Division of General Studies and the School of Integrative Biology. In December of 2019, she returned to AHS as an academic advisor in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences and the Honors Program Coordinator for the College. Tonya lives in Gibson City and loves spending time with her 6 children and 2 grandchildren. Most weekends you will find her road cycling on the country roads in the area.
